Emiliana is an independent producer from Venezuela with a vocation to create impact based storytelling. Collectively, her projects have been supported by fellowships with the Sundance Institute, Adobe, La Biennale Di Venezia, VULCAN and the Impact Guild.

Emiliana started her career in Los Angeles, working at Participant Media in their Documentary division. She later went on to produce Venezuelan feature La Causa (World Premiere, IDFA 2019 ). In 2019, she produced numerous short films with Film Independent’s Project Involve Program as well as branded content with Gucci, VICE, and Garage Magazine. In 2020 she worked as a production supervisor for WIRELESS, produced by Steven Soderbergh for Quibi, now on ROKU TV.

In 2020, Emiliana relocated to London to work with Esperanto Filmoj, Alfonso Cuarón’s production company, on the development of their multiple productions with Apple TV+ and Disney+. She worked in-house as a Creative Executive and additionally performed as a Script Coordinator for their upcoming Apple TV+ series, ‘Disclaimer’, starring Cate Blanchett. 

In 2020 she co-founded JEVA, a non-profit educational organization made for and from Venezuelan womxn that work within the cinematic space with now 1k+ members. They provide educational workshops, grant support, small sponsorships, and mentorship. They’ve recently partnered with the Goethe Institute and Film Independent’s Global Media Makers program.

Emiliana is also the co-founder of the film studio DISCORDIA, which she launched with her long-time collaborators.

She is heavily influenced by her roots and a strong sense of community filmmaking. She hopes to make ground-breaking independent cinema that does not follow dogmatic storytelling.
